Custom Restaurant Widgets

Custom widgets are a simple and elegant way to add more content and interactivity to your website

Think of widgets as useful tools that you can quickly utilize to provide your visitors with a better user experience. Widgets are basically prebuilt pieces of interactive content, that you can easily add or take away from your sidebar or footer areas.

MyRestaurantTheme runs on the WordPress Content Management system. WordPress in itself has thousands of free widgets available, as you can see in the WordPress plugin database.

We’ve also programmed 17 custom widgets aimed at making your restaurant site more interactive and user friendly. These widgets come built into MyRestaurantTheme, and you can enable (or disable) any of them whenever you like.

Custom restaurant widgets

Through our knowledge of the restaurant industry and constant interaction with our clients (restaurant/bar owners), we now have 17 custom built widgets ready for you to use on your new MyRestaurantTheme powered website.

All of the widgets have a specific purpose, as you’ll see from the list below:

Sales widgets

Advertisement – An attractive advert widget, which allows you to upload your advertisements and rotate them inside the widget.

Delivery – A widget designed to funnel the attention of your website visitors to your Online ordering menu card. The widget checks whether you are open for business, and displays an uploaded image if yes, and alternatively, displays text if you are closed.

Online Booking – A widget made to bring attention to your online reservation system.

OpenTable Booking – A widget integrated with the OpenTable reservation system (if you use them). Simply enter your OpenTable ID, and an OpenTable booking widget will be created.

Recommendations – Set a food category, and the widget will display random food items from that categoy.

Shopping Cart – Used in conjunction with the Online ordering system built into MyRestaurantTheme. It displays the items your visitors have added to their shopping cart, with + / – quantity buttons, as well as the checkout button.

 

Content based widgets

Event Calendar – Displays a monthly calendar, automatically highlighting the dates of events you’ve entered into your events gallery.

Menus – Lists your menu cards.

Popular Posts – List your website’s popular posts, based on number of visits.

Recent Posts – Lists your most recent posts in chronological order.

Related Posts – List other posts on your website which may be similar to the page being viewed.

 

Social network widgets

Flickr – If you upload images to Flickr, simply enter your username, and the widget will display your Flickr images at random.

Social Icon – Add links (with logos) to your restaurant’s accounts on 66 of the most popular social network sites, including YouTube, Vimeo, Yelp, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Delicious, and many more.

Twitter – Displays your Twitter feed.

 

Contact widgets

Contact Form – Creates a standard contact form you can use anywhere on your site.

Contact Info – Displays your contact info, including phone numbers and address.

Google Map – Shows your location on Google Maps right.
